Support For Haiti

As I started this venture, I didn't believe that I solely could make an impact or even be heard. What happened in Haiti couldn't even be explained, Hundreds of thousands dead or missing... How can I help, all the way from here. I began to look online to see if i can join someone or an organization to help out Haiti.
I found out that the Black Flag Shoppe, a local shop was already on its way to collecting goods & supplies. I reached out to it's owners, Omar & Leslie to see what I can do. I told them I would like to help out in anyway possible, they said just do what you can help us out by donating water, can, supplies, etc... I did just that but I still felt like I could do more...
The T-shirt started out as an idea only, but how can i tell people what to buy let alone what to wear. Going back to Black Flags website, I read a quote that they like to use. That's when I finally decided I have to do this. The quote was simple, "Don't Talk About It, Be About It" It fits perfect Don't talk about helping Haiti, Help Haiti...Now the timeline to this was tight...
Black Flag is holding a benefit on Sunday. Thursday was spent creatively designing 5 different concepts. Finally around 10pm I got the OK from Black Flag... Now It's Friday morning and I'm at the lab taking a break to get these thought on paper. I have joined up with Jeff and his Crew from Paulette's Fashion to get this done. I would like to personally thank who has helped me to get this point. Thank you again and God Bless all of you...

You can pick up the shirts at BlackFlag Shoppe located at 244 Lakeview Ave Clifton,NJ 07011 973 478 4178

A special thanks to my wife and kids for dealing with my attitude and late hours due to this project...

The Introduction of DTH...

Despite the Hate... The name speaks for itself, As a designer I have the knowledge of what it takes to make it in this business, as a human I have the understanding of what the word hate means. Hate is an emotion of intense revulsion. I started a company years back with the mind set of putting out street wear that people would like to buy. As the company was growing I learned alot, from who was supporting me and who was hating on me. For a while I let other peoples influence my decisions, I closed the company down despite my true emotions. I sought out on a personal journey to find myself. I have found it. I found what it is that i was looking for which is a company who despite all the hate will make it. I have the support of my Wife and kids... I introduce to you: DTH Despite The Hate Clothing...

This is a post that was put out about me in a issue of stepping out here in Jersey... October of 2006

Luis "Luckie" Berrios founder of Controversial Clothing is a graphic artist at heart. He started his way into this industry by doing club flyers, business cards, Invitations, etc... Then one day while shopping with his wife he had a vision to start this clothing line... It started to him as a hobby, being the only one wearing the exclusive shirt at the club or event. People shortly took notice at the designs. He sold one then two then he questioned himself on starting this line. So in the year 2006 with the help and support of his friends, family and wife he lauched Controversial Clothing "A new line in highend fashion"

Controversial Clothing is as bold as a statement a person can make. He designs what people are going to talk about whether it be good or bad. People will notice it.

There was this quote that I personally loved and it's the inspiration for this new line.

"Hate is always welcomed, but Love is rarely appreciated."

With that being said I introduce DTH...

Despite the Hate, I'm still here standing stronger than ever. I send out a very personal message to all of you a hater is a person who harbours intense feelings of dislike. Such a person when the reason for the dislike is perceived as unfounded or rooted in prejudice.

Thank you for the HATE!!!
